Chao and Yanheng successfully defended their theses in front of their doctoral committees and peers last week. They have both been students in the NEAMS research group for four years and will officially receive PhD’s from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in May.

Aymen an undergraduate working with Christopher Morrison presented a poster and some of his research findings at the Sophmore Research Symposium on Wednesday April 2nd.
Andrew Pavlou won best paper in mathematics and computation and Christopher Morrison won best paper in Aerospace at the 2014 American Nuclear Society’s Student Conference at Penn State.
Chao Liang and Yanheng Li, two students from the NEAMS group will defend their theses next week. Yanheng will be presenting at on Monday (31st) from noon to 2:00 in JEC 5030 on his work on meso scale modeling of pebble bed reactors.
A poster presented by Jaron Senecal at the 2013 Materials Science & Technology conference in Montreal won 2nd place in the Student Poster Competition. The poster described the work he did modeling the geometric dissolution of nuclear waste form glass.
Elise Pusateri has been selected by the Fuel Cycle R&D Program to present a poster at the Fuel Cycle Technology Annual Review Meeting to be held Tuesday, November 5 – Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL.
Elise Pusateri will receive an award at the 20th Annual Honors Convocation Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institutes Experimental Media & Performing Arts Center Concert Hall (EMPAC).
Christopher Morrison was selected for the Nuclear Engineering University Program Fellowship for his research on Small Modular Reactor System Design for Safety. Chris was one of approximately 30 students across the nation to recieve the three year $150,000 fellowship from the U.S.
CANYON, TX – Elise Pusateri, a Ph.D. student in Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been awarded a Second Place prize in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Innovations in Fuel Cycle Research Awards competition.
Christopher Morrison was selected to be interview at the 2013 American Nuclear Society’s Student Conference in Boston. He was interviewed on April, 5th as part of a video series about students in the nuclear engineering field, their research, and what they do in their spare time.
