Congratulations to Dr. Wei Ji, director of NEAMS, who has been granted tenure by the Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering Department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dr.
Andrew Pavlou presented his research at M&C 2015, the annual Joint International Conference on Mathematics and Computation (M&C), Supercomputing in Nuclear Applications (SNA) and the Monte Carlo (MC) Method.
NEAMS members Andrew Pavlou, Chris Morrison, and Jaron Senecal participated in this year’s ANS Student Conference at Texas A&M University. Chris was a Current Events in Space Nuclear panelist.
Christopher Morrison presented his paper on “Feasibility Study of Solid Matrix Fuels for Space Power Reactors” at the Nuclear and Emerging Technology for Space Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also served as the public relations chair for the conference.

CANYON, TX – Andrew Pavlou, a Ph.D. student in Nuclear Engineering and Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been awarded a First Place prize in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Innovations in Fuel Cycle Research Awards competition.
This summer the members of the NEAMS group had the opportunity to conduct research at two Department of Energy national laboratories. Andrew Pavlou and Elise Pusateri continued their research at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
