On March 6th, 2023, Peter defended his thesis "Enhancing Monte Carlo Modeling Workflows with a Metamodel-Driven Approach for Nuclear Reactor Analysis". 

Dr. Ji, Peter, and Qiyun attend the 2022 ANS Winter Meeting in Phoenix Arizona! On Tuesday, Qiyun presented his paper "An Equation-Free Based Coupling Approach for Multiscale Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Analysis". Then on Wednesday, Peter presented "Monte Carlo Modeling Unification via a Metamodel-Driven Approach".

Congratulations to Camden Blake and Katelyn Cook who are now the newest Senior Reactor Operators (SROs) at RPI's Reactor Critical Facility! 

Peter Kowal has been awarded a Second Place prize in the Innovations in Nuclear Technology R&D Awards sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Fuel and Supply Chain. Kowal's award is in the Open Competition in the category of Nuclear Science.

On June 8th, 2022, Kurt successfully defended his thesis "Reduced-Order Modeling of Neutron Transport by Proper Generalized Decomposition". 

Peter presents his paper “A (Meta-)Model Driven Approach to MCNP Modeling and Editor Services” at the ANS 2021 Winter Meeting.

This has been a big week for NuCoMP with Matt, Sam, and Joey all successfully defending their theses. Congratulations to Dr. Eklund, Dr. Walker, and Dr. McPherson!

The M&C 2021 Conference was virtually attended by several NuCoMP members, including Peter who won best poster! His winning poster (which prominently features Pacman) can be seen here.

Peter, Kurt, and Jon attend the 2019 ANS Winter Meeting in Washington DC. At the conference Peter presented his paper “Unstructured Mesh Unification for MCNP6.2 and PROTEUS in NEAMS Workbench.”
