Kurt obtained his Bachelor’s of Science in Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017, and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Engineering in 2022. His early research included integration of the neutronics codes MCNP and Proteus into the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Engineering Advanced Modeling and Simulation (NEAMS) toolkit. Currently, Kurt is focusing on reduced-order modeling of the neutron transport equation using Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD).
